SVSSC members display the Sheltie tartan at the annual Sacramento Valley Scottish Games & Festival, Apr. 29 and 30 at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland.

This festive event includes all things Scottish, including pipers, taber tossing, highland dancers, marching units, falconry, contests of strength, fashion, a marketplace of Scottish goods, drum majors, a beard contest, a recreated Scottish medieval village and a nice selection of Scottish and familiar foods.

Shelties are shown in a shaded exhibit area and participate in the parade of Scottish dogs, dancers, pipers, farm animals and bands.

This is a highly attended event to introduce Shelties to non-owners and answer questions about what Shelties and the club do.

Volunteers receive free admission to the event. Photos by Joanne Duff.
